Support or sponsor
Sydney Water and the Sydney Catchment Authority (SCA) work together to run Streamwatch. But the program also relies on support and sponsorship from other organisations, businesses and individuals. This helps make Streamwatch available to more groups across Sydney, the Blue Mountains, Illawarra and Southern Highland regions.
Streamwatch is supported by over 50 organisations including local councils, catchment management authorities, other government agencies and businesses. These organisations provide funding or in-kind assistance. For example, sponsoring the purchase of Streamwatch kits or water monitoring consumables for local groups, or running training and networking events that support Streamwatch groups.
Being a Streamwatch sponsor or supporter can provide many benefits including:
- access to a network of committed community and school groups
- association with a long running effective environmental program
- access to water quality data that can be used for environmental monitoring and reporting
- input to selecting local monitoring sites
- demonstration of corporate citizenship.
